Namibia records 1 904 new cases and 22 deaths

Minister of Health and Social Services Dr Kalumbi Shangula, announced that the country on Monday recorded 1 904 new cases and 22 deaths.

The cases recorded have a gender distribution of 1046 females and 858 males, ranging from two months to 91 years.

The Khomas region recorded the highest number at 741, followed by Erongo with 293, Omaheke 174, Omusati 132, Otjozondjupa 120, Oshikoto 97, Hardap 88, Oshana 77, Ohangwena 43, ||Kharas 41, Kunene 33, Kavango East 32, Kavango West 19, while Zambezi recorded 14 cases.

The deaths were recorded from Windhoek, Swakopmund, Onandjokwe, Mariental, Swakopmund, Oshakati and Otjiwarongo districts.

Meanwhile, the country recorded 1 997 recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 66 897.

By Monday, a total of 559 people were hospitalised, of which 84 were in the intensive care units.

Cumulative confirmed cases stood at 88 553, with 20 178 active cases and 1 467 total deaths.
