NAMIBIA, SINGAPORE STRENGTHEN TIES

Namibia and Singapore have committed to working closer together to strengthen the existing cordial bilateral relations between the two countries.

This was decided between Namibia's Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah and her Singaporean counterpart Mohamad Maliki bin Osman at the end of Osman''s two-day visit to Namibia Saturday.

The Singaporean minister of foreign affairs told a joint media conference at a local hotel that his country is fully committed to work with Namibia in the area of trade.

On her part, Nandi-Ndaitwah informed Osman on her availability and openness to engage in consultations on ways in which the two countries can move forward, especially in areas of economics, trade and business development.

Nandi-Ndaitwah said Namibia will remain and important partner to Singapore and it is therefore important that the two countries move forward in unison towards greater economic developmental ties.
