Namibian businessman to be accorded State funeral

WINDHOEK: Namibian businessman Aaron Mushimba will be accorded a State funeral next week Friday at the Pioneerspark Cemetery.

Mushimba died in a Cape Town hospital on 31 August 2014, aged 67.

A memorial service will be held next week Thursday at Parliament Gardens in the afternoon.

The family’s spokesperson Utoni Nujoma told Nampa today Mushimba was admitted to that hospital for an operation, but suffered an infection after the operation, which ultimately caused his death.

Mushimba went into exile as a freedom fighter in the late 1970s, and was a Swapo-Party representative in Angola, Zambia and Senegal during the liberation struggle.

After independence in 1990, he went into business, and was involved in mining, catering, construction and also in the financial service sector.
