NAMIBIAN FISHERIES MINISTER VISITING ANGOLA TO STRENGTHEN CO-OPERATION

LUANDA, June 18– The Minister of Fisheries and Natural Resources of Namibia, Bernhard Esau, has arrived in Luanda for a two-day visit aimed at strengthening co-operation with Angola, especially in the areas of fishing and beekeeping.

Esau was welcomed on arrival at Luanda’s 4 de Fevereiro International Airport by the Angolan State Secretary for Fisheries, Antonia Nelumba, and the Namibian Ambassador to Angola, Claudia Grace Uusshona.

According to Nelumba, the Namibian minister will sign on Wednesday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two countries to strengthen fisheries research, studies of shared resources, institutions for fishery monitoring, strengthening businesses and in beekeeping.

“Beekeeping is a new area that we are developing in which we intend to benefit from the experience that Namibia has in this sector,” he said.
