Namibian Police Force today applauded its members for the provision of safety and security

The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) today applauded its members for the provision of safety and security during the recently held Presidential and National Assembly elections.

In a media statement availed to Nampa on Tuesday, NamPol's Inspector General, Lieutenant-General Sebastian Ndeitunga, said men and women in uniform, stakeholders, and partners worked tirelessly and professionally to maintain safety and security during the political campaigns and the recently held national elections.

Ndeitunga added that the men and women in uniform participated in election security operations including safeguarding, securing and protecting the election process at fixed and mobile polling stations and escorting election materials and equipment.

The work also included Kalahari Desert Phase V Police-led Joint Crime Prevention Operations, which involved the patrolling of streets, suburbs, locations and protecting life and property and overall prevention of crime in the country.

Ndeitunga commended the leaders of political parties, the independent candidate, and party members in various leadership positions for taking the responsibility to control and guide their supporters to adhere to the code of conduct guiding the election processes.
