Namibian Police investigating murder case after stomach of a man was cut open at a farm

WINDHOEK: The Namibian Police are investigating a case of murder after the stomach of a 19-year-old man was cut open at a farm near Windhoek on Saturday.

Inspector Pendukeni Haikali of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s public relations division said at the weekly crime briefing here on Sunday the 28-year-old suspect in the matter is still at large.

The deceased and suspect apparently had an argument at Farm Karanab in the area of the Sun Karros Daan Viljoen game park west of Windhoek Saturday night, when the alleged assault took place.

The deceased however only succumbed to his wounds on Sunday morning at around 09h00 when he tried to get to a hospital.

In a separate incident at Groot Aub south of Windhoek, a 42-year-old truck driver was stabbed to death by three youths aged between 17 and 22. His passenger was also stabbed once. The passenger had attempted to defend the driver when the attack occurred.

The suspects aged 17, 20 and 22 years old will appear in the Rehoboth Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
