NAMIBIAN PRESIDENT LEAVES FOR SWEDEN TO ATTEND PROGRESSIVE GOVERNANCE MEETING

Namibian President Hage Geingob has left for Stockholm, Sweden, to attend the Progressive Governance Conference being held there on Thursday and Friday.

The conference is being held under the theme "Knowledge is Power: Education, jobs and equality in the 21st Century" and the president is expected to share his analyses and proposals on designing successful education and training systems to match job needs by tackling inequality.

The Press Secretary in the Office of the President, Albertus Aochamub, said in a statement here Wednesday that the president would be be a member of a panel which also includes leaders from Sweden, Albania, Norway and the Philippines.

The Progressive Governance Conference was established in 1999 by former United States President Bill Clinton to provide progressive governments and academic experts with an arena to exchange ideas and create a peaceful network on how to promote progressive politics and sustainable globalisation strategies.
