Namibian Water Corporation has announced that there will be water supply rationing in northern Namibia

The Namibian Water Corporation (NamWater) has announced that there will be water supply rationing in northern Namibia due to a technical and mechanical breakdown at its Oshakati water treatment plant.

This will also affect the main northern towns of Ongwediva, Oshakati and Ondangwa.

Chief of the Business Unit North Water Supply, Dr Kaliki Kambanda said in a media statement on Saturday that the water supply rationing is scheduled to happen from today to Friday.

According to Kambanda, the rationing times are 08h00-10h00, 14h00-16h00 and 22h00-04h00.

Should there be critical needs at essential services' centres such as hospitals, clinics and institutions' dormitories, the authorities and responsible officers and managers are encouraged to contact the NamWater area managers for Cuvelai East and West, reads Kambanda's statement.
