Namibia’s High Commission in South Africa, in partnership with the Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry will on Wednesday

Namibia's High Commission in South Africa, in partnership with the Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), will on Wednesday host an event aimed at promoting Namibia as an investment destination.

Namibia's High Commissioner to South Africa, Veiccoh Nghiwete, told Nampa in an interview yesterday his office will engage participants on new policy reforms such as the scrapping of work permits as a requirement for business people from Namibia during the event taking place in Johannesburg.

This comes after Namibia hosted the economic growth summit in July this year, where new investment projects from private promoters and State-Owned Enterprises, as well as new policy reforms, were announced.

Before the changes made this year it was problematic for business people who came to do business and fly back the same day, to go through the arduous process of applying for a work visa, Nghiwete said.

Fifteen Namibian business people and their delegations had already confirmed their attendance by Friday.
