NamPol warns against fraudulent texts

Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Inspector General, Sebastian Ndeitunga has launched an investigation into an individual who is soliciting funds out of shortlisted NamPol recruitment applicants.

The investigated person under false police impersonation 'Inspector Marcus Mulezi' is calling applicants promising them a successful interview provided they ewallet him a certain fee.

In an interview with Nampa on Wednesday, Ndeitunga said NamPol does not ask any kind of payment nor favours for shortlisted candidates to succeed through interviews.

That person is committing crime and is defrauding the members of the public who are eligible for interviews. My members are currently tracing him, so that he can be arrested, he noted.

The head of NamPol explained that once the culprit is caught and there are members of the public that are victims to his practice, a case of fraud, corruption, theft and false impersonation will be open.

Ndeitunga warned members of the public not to fall prey of such criminal act as the recruitment interviews process is underway countrywide.

Members of the public should be alert of the criminal act currently going on and any encounter of such act should be reported the police, warned Ndeitunga.
