Nankudu District Hospital X-ray machine broken for over a year

The X-ray machine at the Nankudu District Hospital has been defective for more than a year now, forcing staff members to travel twice a week to the Rundu State Hospital to print patients' X-rays.

The hospital is situated at Nankudu village in the Kavango West Region, some 100 kilometres west of Rundu.

This is part of the challenges faced by the hospital, its radiographer assistant Alina Angombe revealed yesterday while engaging the Minister of Health and Social Services, Dr Kalumbi Shangula and his delegation who are visiting the Kavango West and East regions.

Shangula's visit is aimed at inspecting and observing the state of public health facilities and how they are providing services to the communities, while receiving feedback from patients, clients and stakeholders on how they are being served.

Angombe informed the minister that the X-ray machine has been malfunctioning since April last year, a situation which has resulted in her to travel weekly to the Rundu State Hospital on Tuesdays and Thursdays to print patients' X-rays.
