Namibia’s National Archery in Schools Programme (NASP)’s development team won a bronze medal at the NASP World Championship.

The event was hosted in Nashville in the United States of America (USA).

A team of 16 archers from Namibian schools travelled to the US on 24 July 2015 to compete in the NASP World Championship.

A total of 5 146 archers participated at the international event.

A statement availed to Nampa on Thursday by the Archery Association of Namibia said each national team was ordered according to their ranking scores, with Namibia having four sub-teams consisting of one girl and one boy each.

“On Monday the Namibian teams competed against Canada and South Africa, with some of the Namibian archers improving their personal best scores.

“Namibian teams one and two fell to USA, but in the end Africa took bronze (Namibia),” the statement said.

South Africa won silver, proving that African nations are internationally competitive, it added.
