Tel aviv: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Sunday that Israel will not seek approval from any external entities for conducting military strikes in Gaza or Lebanon, even amidst existing ceasefire agreements.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Netanyahu addressed ministers during his weekly government meeting, emphasizing Israel’s autonomy in matters of national security. “Israel is an independent state. We will defend ourselves with our own forces, and we will continue to control our destiny,” Netanyahu stated. He reaffirmed that Israel does not require any external consent for its security measures.
Netanyahu also addressed the topic of deploying international peacekeeping forces in Gaza. He asserted that Israel retains the authority to decide which countries are permitted to deploy their troops in the region. “We have made it clear that Israel will determine which forces are unacceptable to us, and we will continue to act accordingly,” Netanyahu said.
These declarations come in the wake of a series of diplomatic engagements by senior White House officials, aimed at strengthening the tenuous ceasefire in Gaza.
