NFA members schooled on FIFA E-Connect

The Namibia Football Association (NFA) in collaboration with Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) successfully hosted a two-day FIFA E-Connect that will support the digitalization of registration and competitions.

The workshop was held at the Palm Hotel in Windhoek and attended by selected members of the NFA, keeping up with the COVID-19 Regulations and restrictions of 10 people at a gathering. The ten will now be supported to roll out the implementation to the rest of the members in due course.

NFA Secretary General Franco Cosmos praise FIFA for their FIFA Forward Project that invests and promotes the game of football, and through which the E-connect came to be, and hopes the participants will share it with their clubs and communities.

“You are the chosen ones and it is now up to you to take everything from the course, and collectively assist in working towards professionalizing football in our country,” states Cosmos.

The E-connect programs has a developmental goal that looks to offer support in the digitalization of registration and competition, through improving football administration by using electronic systems as well as FIFA ID and creating football statistics via electronic players’ passports.

The workshop worked around players’ registration, keeping track of transfers, decentralize and enable regions to register their own players electronically, as well as generating of income through FIFA Forward programs.

NFA Head of Competitions and workshop conductor Titus Kunamuene, and was supported by FIFA Tehcicnal People who joined the crouse via an online meeting Application, says the course was successfully concluded, with great response from participants.

“From here, we roll out and hand over to the relevant parties which are the members of the regions and clubs for the actual work however, we will ensure that everything is implemented as per the FIFA road map” he states.

The selected ten are: Diina Shitula, Helvi Eliakim, Mervin Geiriseb, Lorraine Gowases, Elina Petrus, Natasha Cloete, Daniel Namwila, Erastus Someno, Marisella Davids, Matthew Haikali.
