Outjo: Founder of Ezze Training Centre, Lydia Haufiku, has expressed satisfaction with the high turnout of Outjo youth to a free skills training workshop that began on Wednesday at the Legacy Centre. Speaking to Nampa, Haufiku said more than 900 youth have applied for free training on various programmes offered by her training centre.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Haufiku noted that the free skills training the centre conducts at various places in the country aligns with the overall goal of youth empowerment and the objectives of the education and youth ministries. The training centre is based in Windhoek and a few other places, offering 200 youth programmes with 12 instructors, including herself.

The training encompasses both theoretical and practical components, including office administration, safety and security, first aid training, reception service training, hospitality training, and more. However, Haufiku mentioned facing challenges such as language barriers and overcrowded sessions, stating that the turnout is high but there is limited space for all trainees.

Outjo Constituency councillor, Johannes Antsino, expressed his admiration for the initiative and the youth’s response, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts in providing such opportunities. Haufiku highlighted that Ezze Training Centre is supported by the Office of the Governor in the Khomas Region and the Khomas Regional Council.
