NUDO Youth League wants opposition to unite in upcoming elections

The National Unity Democratic Organisation (NUDO) Youth League has called upon all opposition parties and independent candidates to co-operate in the upcoming Regional Council and Local Authority elections in November 2020.

NUDO's Youth League Acting Secretary General, Veparura Kandirikirira, made these remarks during a press conference here on Thursday.

Kandirikirira said, opposition parties and independent candidates urgently need to work out a way on how to come to an agreement to divide the 121 constituencies among themselves.

The race should be between SWAPO and one of the opposition party or independent candidate. Ones we decide which opposition party or independent candidate is preferable in a given constituency, all other opposition parties will support that party or individual. he said.

He added that the 2015 and 2019 election results is enough to decide which party or independent is preferable in a given constituency.

Kandirikirira further said, the only way opposition parties and independent candidates can reduce the power and majority of SWAPO is only when they unite in the upcoming Regional Council and Local Authority elections in November 2020.

We should have unity of purpose in the upcoming elections as we might take over the house of review which is the National council and lead various regional management and create employment in regions to help our needy electorates who are still not free economically after 30 years of independence under the SWAPO regime,

He called on political parties to drive this agenda within their party structures.
