Omaheke Regional Council distributes animal feed in Aminuis Constituency

Farmers in the Aminius constituency on Thursday expressed gratitude when they received animal feed for their animals which was distributed to them by the Omaheke regional council.

The council distributed 58 bags of 50 kg animal fodder, 58 boxes of 20kg nutrient blocks and 58 bales of grass, totaling to a value of N.dollars 38 918.

The beneficiaries each received three bales of grass, three boxes of animal nutrient blocks and three bags of animal fodder, beneficiaries also received 20kg of maize meal and five tins of fish from the drought relief programme.

Omaheke Regional governor Festus Uitele told Nampa in an interview on Thursday that the beneficiaries are individuals who are drought- hit and are in dire need for assistance but were over looked during the regional draught relief programme.

We have beneficiaries in different constituencies in Omaheke, yesterday ( Wednesday) we were in Otjinene, today we are in Aminius and tomorrow (Friday) we will be heading to the areas in the Gobabis district Uitele said.

63 year old recipient Magdelena Molela is one of the three beneficiaries in Corridor 3.

I am very grateful for the goods that I have received here today. I might even say they came on the right time as one of my cattle have not been able to get up for the pasT days because there is nothing to feed on, so hopefully with this fodder, I hope it will recover.

Sara Motibi is one of the beneficiaries in Corridor 18. 62 year old Motibi said she is happy not only because she has received feed for her animals but has received food for her and her family as well.

About 30 inhabitants in Corridor 18 also received bags of maize meal and tins of fish.
