Two of the three accused in the recent alleged armed robbery that occurred at the Oshigambo NamPost branch in the Oshikoto Region have appeared in the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court on Friday.

The duo, 43-year-old Ndashaala Johannes and Onesmus Shimaneni, 35, appeared before magistrate Evyline Nghinyotwa on charges of robbery with aggravated circumstances, and their case was postponed to 03 May for further police investigations.

They are remanded in police custody until their next appearance.

The accused men were arrested at Ondangwa (some 30-km from Oshigambo) last week Wednesday, a few hours after the robbery.

The police impounded their getaway silver Nissan Note sedan and recovered a bag containing coins of an undisclosed amount, a pistol as well as three cellphones.

It is alleged that the three alleged robbers, who concealed as customers, attacked and overpowered the sole unarmed security guard stationed at the NamPost branch and threatened the cashier before stealing N.dollars 65 000 in cash.

Namibian Police Force Commander in the Oshikoto Region, Armas Shivute on Tuesday said the third suspect is still at large, adding that police were slowly picking up leads and intensifying efforts to apprehend him.
