The competition that was named after Association's president Pasanapehe Kauta will start on Friday at 18h00 and is expected to end on Sunday.

This was confirmed to Nampa on Thursday by Tjivikara Kamenje who is an executive member of the association, adding that the tournament is aimed at uplifting the spirit of sports and serve as a platform to promote youngsters from Otjinene constituency.

This competition is an aid for the selection of players to Otjinene All-Stars team that represent the constituency in Namibia Rural Sport Development Federation competitions, Kamenje said.

He added that the association decided to host the tournament in Windhoek to expose players to another level and environment so that Namibian premier league scouts and coaches can see them.

We hardly find premier league coaches attending rural tournaments in remote areas, so this will be an opportunity. It will also be an opportunity for the players to play on the grass and floods lights as most of them never experienced it, Kamenje emphasised.
