Otjiwarongo modern business complex officially opened

A multimillion dollar modern business complex at Otjiwarongo was on Friday afternoon officially opened by Vice President, NangoloMbumba.

The Etemba Plaza situated in the central business district of Otjiwarongo, belongs to a retail business tycoon, Theo Borstlap who own the Theo SuperSpar Supermarket at the town.

Borstlap at the event told the gathering that his newly built complex will host a restaurant, several retail businesses, mini-shops and a Standard Bank branch amongst others.

He said a larger part of the complex was newly constructed while other parts renovated at a cost of N.dollars 45 million.

Bortslap said he employees a total of 350 workers at the new complex and to his old supermarkets around town.

We are really very happy to see business activities already happening at Etemba Plaza, and a variety more other shops expected to open very soon, he said.

Mbumba on his part praised Borstlap for investing millions of money in the local economy through the construction of this new complex which has changed the face of Otjiwarongo.

Mbumba noted that an investment of this magnitude into a larger business complex, literarily means a support in an effort of addressing Government's agenda of job creation and poverty alleviation.

I thus call upon other local businesspeople to invest more in the country, as the prospects of doing business starts to look bright and in the process we address the socio-economic challenges the nation is faced with, he said.

Otjiwarongo Mayor, BennesHaimbondi also called on other businesspeople to come and invest to the town so that employment and economic opportunities take place.

Haimbondi said Otjiwarongo is a strategically located town between the northern parts of the country and the capital city, therefore, it is a suitable place for several business activities.
