Otjozondjupa police seek assistance in arresting murder suspect

The Otjozondjupa police are calling on the public to assist in arresting a dangerously armed man believed to be his 30s linked to a murder incident of a 21-year-old Ronald Bock at Farm Eastwood outside Outjo.

Farm Eastwood is situated approximately 95 kilometres on Outjo-Khorixas road.

Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force in the Otjozondjupa Region, Inspector Maureen Mbeha in an interview with Nampa on Thursday said the suspect RinouzeuTjihoreko also known as Benni had on 11 July 2019 at night allegedly attacked Bock with a panga on the neck, killing him instantly during a fight.

The suspect then fled the scene on foot in the bushes of the farm at about 23h00.

Mbeha said Tjihoreko and Bock were both farmworkers on Farm Eastwood.

The police officer said that Tjihoreko was on Tuesday night seen on the farm dressed in a blue T-shirt with stripes and a short trouser.

Tjihoreko originally comes from Otjituuo in the Okakarara Constituency and he is a slender, tall and black in complexion.

I am now calling on the public to assist us in arresting him or Tjihoreko to hand himself over to the police, Mbeha said.

However, Mbeha warned the public not to try to arrest Tjihoreko, but to inform the nearest police station as he is allegedly still dangerously armed with a panga he used in the attack of Bock.

Police investigations continue.
