OtjozondjupaSwapo regional conference on Wednesday

Swapo-Party's Otjozondjupa Regional conference has been set for Wednesday at a local hotel in Otjiwarongo.

The party regional coordinator, Susan Hikopua in an interview with Nampa on Monday said it is at this conference on Wednesday where two names of the regional representatives to the electoral college also known as the pot will be elected.

Hikopua said the Swapo electoral college is expected in the capital on 06 to 08 September this year where party members who will feature on the list of the next National Assembly (NA) will be elected.

Therefore, the two members to be voted on Wednesday here will also compete with others at the national party electoral college over the weekend, said Hikopua.

She said that a total of six candidates - three men and three women to contest for the two regional political candidatures here are Kaino David, Regina Alugodhi, Maria de ConceicdoLourence, Patrick Xoagub, Erickson Nenghwenya and James Uerikua.

We have three women to contest for one post, and three men also for another post, said Hikopua.

She further said that additional four names to those two of the hopeful NA list will also be nominated and endorsed at this regional conference.

Each of the seven party district in the region will deploy its four member delegates to accompany their district coordinators to the regional conference.

Some national political leaders assigned to Otjozondjupa will also attend the conference as witnesses, while Hikopua direct its proceedings.
