Outstanding learners at Monica Geingos JSS rewarded with cash

Twenty outstanding learners in different grades at the Monica Geingos Junior Secondary School (JSS) in Otjiwarongo were on Thursday rewarded with cash, certificates and trophies at the school's fifth prize giving ceremony.

The First Lady, Monica Geingos who is the school patron attended the event and handed over the most prestigious dux award to the overall performing learner of the school, Toive Kamusuni.

The 14-year-old Grade 8 Kamusuni received N.dollars 2 500, a trophy and certificates at the event for being the school's best performer in 2019 in all her subjects.

Kamusuni also was honoured for being the most disciplined learner at the school.

The First Lady at the event also recognised some identified parents who have shown their total commitment into the school work and development of their children.

Other top performing Grade 8, Grade 9 and Grade 10 learners at the school each received a certificate, trophy and cash prizes of N.dollars 1 000 in subjects of mathematics, English, physical science, life science, geography, agriculture and entrepreneurship.

The Otjozondjupa Regional Governor, Otto Ipinge and Otjiwarongo Mayor Bennes Haimbondi as well as parents also attended.

The school has this year has a total of 364 learners, with staff complement of 18 teachers offering Grades 8 to Grade 10.
