Bolikhamxay: Lao authorities have seized over 1 million methamphetamine pills in central Laos’ Bolikhamxay province, following a tip-off about a drug smuggling operation bound for neighboring countries.
According to Namibia Press Agency, local authorities intercepted a white pickup on July 4 near the riverbank in Thaphabat district in the province, some 200 km southeast of the capital Vientiane. A search of the vehicle uncovered nine bags containing a total of 1,090,000 methamphetamine pills.
Authorities were continuing investigations to identify and arrest additional suspects connected to the drug trafficking network.
