Dhaka: A total of 528 people were killed and 1,310 others injured in 532 accidents on roads, railways, and waterways in Bangladesh in October, a report reviewed on Wednesday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, a passenger welfare association, motorcycle collisions were responsible for a substantial number of fatalities and serious injuries last month, which accounted for 37.5 percent of the total deaths.

The association attributed October’s road accidents to several key factors, including monsoon damage creating potholes, deficient road infrastructure such as missing dividers and signs, unsafe operations of unfit vehicles, reckless driving, and the illegal use of roads by unauthorized vehicles like battery-powered rickshaws on highways.
