Cairo: Pakistan’s workers’ remittances increased by 8.4 percent during the first quarter of the fiscal year 2025-26 (FY26), the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) said on Thursday. The total inflows reached 9.5 billion U.S. dollars during July-September, compared to 8.8 billion dollars in the same period last year, the central bank said in a statement.
According to Namibia Press Agency, in September 2025 alone, workers’ remittances stood at 3.2 billion dollars, marking an 11.3 percent year-on-year increase, according to the SBP. The statement noted that the major sources of remittance inflows in September were Saudi Arabia with 750.9 million dollars, the United Arab Emirates with 677.1 million dollars, Britain with 454.8 million dollars, and the United States with 269 million dollars.
Workers’ remittances continue to play a vital role in supporting Pakistan’s external account and strengthening foreign exchange reserves, the SBP added.
