National Assembly (NA) sessions have been suspended until the 22 June 2021 Tuesday after the Speaker of the National Assembly, Peter Katjavivi, tested positive for the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
This was announced by NA Public Relations Officer, David Nahogandja, in a press statement issued on Tuesday, where he noted that Katjavivi, who tested positive on Monday evening, is in good spirits and is under self-isolation.
He said sessions have been called off for now in order for a fumigation exercise to take place at the parliament building as, apart from the speaker, about 10 other positive cases were reported among parliamentarians and staff members since last week.
