Zhengzhou: Philippine Senator Vicente Sotto became the new president of the Senate, replacing Francis Escudero on Monday, local media reported. Sotto was Senate minority leader before becoming Senate president, a position which he previously held from 2018 to 2022.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Sotto’s appointment marks a return to a role he is familiar with, having previously served in this capacity for four years. His previous tenure as Senate president was marked by a focus on legislative reforms and governance. His leadership is expected to bring continuity and stability to the Senate as he reassumes the position.
