Residents of Otjiwarongo, Okakarara and Outjo will be without electricity on Sunday due to planned maintenance work on the major power lines supplying these areas.

NamPower Corporate Communications Officer, Rosa Nikanor, on Friday told Nampa in an interview that the outage is being treated as urgent and is scheduled for 07h00 until 18h30.

The scheduled repairs will include the replacement of damaged electricity poles.

Corporate Communications and Marketing Officer for the Central North Regional Electricity Distributor (Cenored), Charlie Matengu, on his part urged customers to treat their electricity outlets as live, since the electricity will be switched back on without notification.

“Cenored apologises for any inconvenience,” he said.
