President invites Ban Ki-Moon to Namibia to inaugurate UN House

President Hifikepunye Pohamba has invited United Nations’ Secretary-General (SG) Ban Ki-Moon to Namibia to inaugurate the United Nations’ (UN) House in Windhoek.

The UN House is situated in the Klein Windhoek business area, and accommodates most UN family organisations in Namibia like the World Health Organisation (WHO), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

This invitation was delivered by Prime Minister Hage Geingob on Monday when he paid a courtesy on the UN SG at that organisation’s headquarters.

Speaking to Nampa immediately after the meeting, Geingob said Ban indicated that the invitation was long-overdue, and he will definitely look into it.

The date of the inauguration has not been announced yet.
