President participate in the first session of the Russia-Africa summit scheduled

President Hage Geingob is set to participate in the first session of the Russia-Africa summit scheduled for tomorrow in Sochi, Russia.

A media release issued by the Office of the President said Geingob will join 35 other Heads of State and government at the summit, which is set to adopt a declaration on the existing relationship between the Russian Federation and African countries.

According to the statement, participating countries will be making declarations in support of strengthening peace and security.

The parties also seek to express strong determination to the strengthening of peace and security and to the building of a just and equitable system of international relations, it added.

It continued that the summit will offer an opportunity for Russia and African countries to share and support the goals and objectives of the African Union member states, namely Agenda 2063, UN Agenda 2030 and the sustainable development goals adopted in 2015.
