Prokids Football Club defeat Sport Klub Windhoek by 2-0

WINDHOEK: Prokids Football Club defeated Sport Klub Windhoek (SKW) 2-0 yesterday to be crowned champions of the 2014 Khomas Under-17 League.

The Khomas Youth League is a developmental league played by U-9, U-11, U-13, U-15, U-17 and U-19 footballers from Windhoek-based football development academies, First and Second Division football clubs as well as Premier League football teams.

Fifteen teams participated in the U-17 League.

Prokids replicated their semi-final score over Ramblers yesterday morning in the final, with their Yuani Beukes scoring his 18th goal of the season to give Prokids a 1-0 half-time lead.

SKW, who won the two previous editions of the league, threw everything they had to get back into the game.

However, Prokids’ James Gaseb increased his team’s lead to 2-0 in the second half.

In the third-place playoff match, Ramblers beat Jonas Chrissel Vries (JCV) 4-1 to take the bronze medal.

Home of Good Hope FC were awarded the Most Disciplined Team Award by the League Coordinator Cole Mungendje.
