Regional governor calls on people to distinguish between disability and inability by recognizing important roles people living with disabilities play in shaping society

OSHAKATI: Oshana regional governor, Clemens Kashuupulwa has called on people in Namibia to distinguish between disability and inability by recognising the important roles people living with disabilities play in shaping society.

Kashuupulwa made the call whilst officiating at the official opening of the 2014 Oshana Heroes Sports Club Regional Championships at the Oshakati Independence Stadium in his region yesterday.

People with disabilities from various regions gathered at Oshakati for the event, and participated in athletics and basketball.

While encouraging people with disabilities, their parents and caretakers to join the Oshana Heroes Sports Club, Kashuupulwa also asked that Namibians fully support each person with disabilities who wants to participate in sports activities locally and abroad.

He said sport can go a long way and can serve as a career, help on a social and economic level, and it can be a source of inspiration for many people.

The 2014 Oshana Heroes Sports Club Championships were hosted under the motto ‘Through Sport, People with Disability can Develop’.
