Rundu shop robbed of N.dollars 40 000

The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Kavango East Region are investigating a case of armed robbery after a man raided a local shop Ginos on Monday night and fled with N.dollars 40 000.

Acting Crime Investigations Coordinator, Chief Inspector, Ewald Kavara confirmed the incident to Nampa on Wednesday.

Kavara said the suspect allegedly fled with N.dollars 40 000 after he stormed into the shop while the shop was about to close and pointed a gun to one of the workers who had the money bag.

The suspect shot a gunshot into the air threatening the lady who was with the money and fled the scene on foot, said the acting Crime Investigations Coordinator.

Kavara added that the security guard who guards at the premises wanted to chase the suspect but was held by the other two people believed to be his accomplice. The Police have thus requested members of the public to contact them if they have information that could lead to the arrest of the

suspect.

Kavara also urged business owners to install enough closed-circuit television (CCTV) at their business premises to assist in this kind of incident.
