Rundu Trade Fair currently underway

The Rundu Trade Fair is currently underway with new exciting programmes lined up after the Rundu Town Council canceled the event in 2018 for restructuring.

Rundu Town Council (RTC) Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Makayi in an interview with Nampa on Wednesday said that despite the hiccups in the economy, things are going well as expected.

Despite the hiccups in the economy, things are well and a lot of people have applied to take part, however, some have not made it yet to the event but we are hoping that they will make it before the official opening, said Makayi.

The event started on 28 October 2019 and it is expected to end on 02 November. It will be officially opened on Thursday where the Kavango East Regional Governor, Samuel Mbambo will be the main speaker.

The council's spokesperson said a lot of people have come through especially on the side of the beverages and its full to capacity. On the playground section for the kids, Makayi said the kiddies park is also up and running in which he urged the general public to come and see for themselves as well as and called on parents to take their children to the kiddies park.

The fair includes 127 stalls which comprise of corporate stalls and individual stalls for exhibitors that came as far as Kenya and Zimbabwe.

Different presentations from financial institutions are expected to take place at the event as well as a livestock auction and an award-giving ceremony for farmers in the region.

In addition, there will also be a lot of entertainment such as music performance by multiple award-winning kwaito star, Gazza, and other local artists.
