Samaria announces Brave Warriors squad for Chan

Brave Warriors interim coach Bobby Samaria has announced the 20 man squad that left on Wednesday morning for Antananarivo for the 2020 African Nations Championship tie against Madagascar on Sunday 22 September.

The team is largely made of the squad that did duty against the Comoros in the first round of the qualifiers in July with the exception of Junius Theophilus, who has joined an Ethiopian club and Isaskar Gurirab who is out with an injury.

Speaking to Nampa at the conclusion of the final training session before departure at the Namibia Football Association (NFA) Technical Center on Tuesday evening, Samaria expressed confidence at the team selected saying they will produce the desired result.

We have kept the core of the team. We also had some of the guys like Ballack (Hendrik Somaeb) and Petrus Shitembi training with the team to help the team, we are happy with the work we put in, he said.

Samaria further noted Madagascar knocked out Mozambique, a team which is also strong, hence the caution to his side not to underestimate their opponents.

He further stated that the ranking will not matter as African teams have over the time-proven that there are no 'small teams' on the continent anymore.

Below are the 20 tam members of the squad who travelled to Madagascar

Charles Uirab, Ratanda Mbazuvara, Larry Horaeb, Ivan Kamberipa, Emilio Martin, Aprocious Petrus, Immanuel Heita, Dynamo Fredericks, Aubrey Amseb, Absalom Iimbondi, Elmo Kambindu, Marcel Papama, Gustav Isaak, Mapenzi Muwanei, Wendell Rudath, Llewelyn Stanley, Gregory Auchumeb, Vitapi Ngaruka, Panduleni Nekundi and Uanivi Zeriueza.
