Security guard arrested in connection with murder in Windhoek

 A security guard was on Friday 27 March 2020 arrested in Windhoek in connection with the murder of a man whose body was find dumped next to a dumping site at Havana informal settlement.

A weekend crime report issued on Monday by Namibian Police Force head of Public Relations Division Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi said, the suspect is a 23 years old security guard employed by Shilimela Security Services. And he was arrested after the body of a 39 years old man was found lying in a pool of blood with four open stab wounds on the back, in the chest and in the stomach.

His next of kin is not yet informed and the police will continue with investigations to determine what transpired that lead to the death of the man.

In a different incident, a 23 years old South African women and a student at the University of Namibia was arrested on Friday in Windhoek Ausspannplatz at around 04h00, after she allegedly hit and injured a soldier whose a member of the Operation Namib Desert while they were closing a bar that was operating beyond the trading hours, police investigations will continue.

Another murder was reported on Friday at Schlip, a settlement in the Rehoboth Rural constituency in the Hardap Region, where it was alleged that a 51 years old Namibian woman was stabbed with an Okapi knife twice, on the chest and back. The victim was taken to Schlip Clinic where she succumbed to her injuries, her next of kin were informed and a 32 years old man was arrested in connection with murder.

It was also reported that Jonas Pandeinge Nghipunya 29 years of age was bumped by a vehicle on Friday at around 21h00 on the main road between Omungwelume and Oshakati at Okashopashopa village.

The unidentified driver and vehicle failed to stop at the accident scene to render the necessary assistance and the victim died later at the scene, his next of kin were informed and Police investigations will continue.
