The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) on Saturday arrested a 23-year-old Namibian man for allegedly possessing and dealing in cannabis at Walvis Bay.
The NamPol weekend crime report issued on Sunday said the suspect was arrested at a service station in Narraville while allegedly attempting to deliver cannabis to customers.
“It is alleged that drugs were ordered from the accused to be delivered at the service station. The suspect was found with one big bag of cannabis with a value of N.dollars 16 000,” said the report.
In a separate incident, also at Walvis Bay, a 21-year-old man was arrested during a police search for possession of cannabis on Saturday. The suspect was allegedly found in possession of cannabis valued at N.dollars 750.
Meanwhile, a 41-year old man was arrested after he was allegedly found in possession of cannabis at the Khorixas-Kamanjab roadblock during a police search on Saturday. The value of the cannabis is yet to be determined.
Two male suspects aged 22 and 24 were arrested at Walvis on Sunday for allegedly dealing in cannabis and ecstasy.
According to the report, the suspects were arrested after a police search during which they were allegedly found with loose cannabis weighing 1 585 grams and four ecstasy capsules with a combined value of N.dollars 80 250 in their possession.
Furthermore, a 29-year-old man was arrested at Omakange on Friday, for possession of cannabis.
“The suspect was travelling from Ondangwa to Kamanjab in a red Toyota seven-seater. Upon arrival at the checkpoint, police searched the vehicle and found a backpack that contained cannabis. The weight and value of the cannabis are still to be determined,” the report said.
The police also reported the arrest of an 18-year-old suspect for allegedly dealing in crack cocaine and cocaine powder in Windhoek’s Khomasdal residential area on Friday.
According to the report the suspect was arrested after being found in possession of five doses of cocaine powder and one unit of crack cocaine, valued at N.dollars 2 600. The suspect is being detained at the Katutura Police Station and police investigations continue.
