Shalulile to captain Brave Warriors

Brave Warriors interim coach Bobby Samaria has named Peter Shalulile as captain of the team for their match against Eritrea in Asmara on Wednesday for the 2022 Federation of International Football Federations (FIFA) World Cup preliminary qualifiers.

Speaking to www.nfaorg, Samaria said Shalulile will be deputised by Willy Stephanus, adding that the stage is set for his side to prove their mantle at the National Stadium in Asmara.

The players are in high spirit and eager to go out (tomorrow) to represent our country to the best of their ability, Samaria is quoted as saying.

He added that he is also encouraged by the healthy competition in the team.

Fighting for positions is extremely intense and with the quality Namibia possess we are spoiled for choices. All we need to do is to find the right balance with respect to the composition of the team, he added.

The team only had two training session at the artificial turf of the match venue.

The return leg will take place on 10 September 2019, at the Sam Nujoma Stadium at 19h00 Stadium.
