Shock and Awe At Swapo Pot Elections

Swapo’s electoral college delivered a few shocks when the list for the party’s parliamentary candidates in 2015 was announced earlier tonight.

Both Jerry Ekandjo and Pendukeni Iivula-Ithana who fought it out against Hage Geingob for the party’s vice-presidency in 2012 could only make it towards the lower end of the list. Ekandjo was voted in 81st place while Iivula-Ithana made it to the 86th spot.

Other party elders like Richard Kamwi, Albert Kawana and Moses Amweelo could also not make the cut to go to Parliament.
