Six people committed suicide while two others died under mysterious circumstances: NamPol

WINDHOEK: Six people allegedly committed suicide over the weekend, while two others died under mysterious circumstances, the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) reported today.

Sergeant Slogan Matheus told the media in the capital that Fanuel Mati, 18, was found hanging dead from a tree in a riverbed between the Hakana and Wanaheda residential areas in Windhoek today.

The other people who have taken their own lives are Elias Ndidalelwa Shimonga, 24, at the Onamutayi village in the Ongwediva area;

Moses David Hangome, 31, at the Oshoopala location, also in Ongwediva;

Matheus Nghidengwa George, 42, at the Oshalongo village in the Omuthiya area of the Oshikoto Region;

Simbuu Yange, 18, at the Lizouli village in the Zambezi Region;

a security guard, Tobias Panduleni Alugodhi, 27, at the Oshikuku area in the Omusati Region;

All above deceased persons’ next of kin have been informed.

No suicide notes were found in any of these incidences, and Police investigations continue.
