A 22-year-old man allegedly killed his father, 62, with a panga at Oshuulula village in the Endola Constituency on Saturday.

He reportedly slashed his father on the throat as well as on both hands, causing deep wounds that led to the older man’s death on the scene.

The Namibian Police crime report issued Monday indicates that the suspected murder weapon has been recovered and the suspect was arrested.

It is alleged that the motive behind the crime may be revenge-driven as the suspect was released from the Oshakati Police Station holding cells on 10 September 2021, after his parents opened a case of malicious damage to property against him.

In a separate incident, a 60-year-old man reportedly stole six donkeys from a grazing area and drove them via Hema to Rundu without the owner’s consent. The total value is N.dollars 12 400 and the donkeys were recovered.

Meanwhile two men, both 26, were arrested over the weekend for stock theft at farm Streidam in the Aroab district. It is alleged that the two removed two Dorper sheep from a grazing field and slaughtered them without the owner’s consent. The total value is N.dollars 5 000.

The report also mentioned that on Saturday at 11h21 in Oshuulo village, Nuuyoma Risto, 45, allegedly fell off a palm tree and died on the spot.

Meanwhile at Guano Island in Walvis Bay, the lifeless body of Haihambo Tomas Heita Ndatunga, 25, was discovered hanging from a pole.

“The deceased was last seen on Friday between 20h00 and 21h00. No suicide note was found and no foul play is suspect at this stage.’

All incidents are under investigation.
