State House executive director Pakote shot

State House Executive Director in the President's Private Office, Moses Pakote is currently receiving medical care at a local hospital, after he was shot by armed unknown men on Monday at midnight.

A media alert issued by the Office of the President on Tuesday confirmed that Pakote was shot at his residence.

The police are investigating the case. Mr Pakote is recovering and the Presidency wishes to request media to respect his privacy and that of his family during this period, said the statement.

Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Deputy Commissioner Abner Agas on Tuesday confirmed that no suspect was arrested as yet.

Pakote was appointed by the Office of the Prime Minister in January 2019, he was a deputy executive director previously known as Permanent Secretary in the vice president's private office.
