Swapo compromising integrity of elections: Venaani

President of the Popular Democratic Party (PDM) McHenry Venaani expressed Swapo, saying it has failed the country to a point where it has compromised the integrity of the national elections.

Venaani, who was speaking during the party's rally here on Saturday refused to believe reports that the missing Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) have fallen off a trailer, adding that no person in their right state of mind, would carry such sensitive equipment on a trailer.

How can we trust an EVM, when there has been allegations India where they are manufactured, that they can be manipulated?

Now, in Namibia, the ruling party has put the EVMs on a trailer and they have gone missing. Now ask me this question; what kind of a thief has an interest in EVM machines?

Venaani has condemned the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) and Swapo for trying to manipulate the people and the elections and added that they do not have confidence in the EVMs.

We are condemning the ECN and we want them to come out with the truth about what has happened to the EVMs, the president said.

Venaani called on the Namibians to vote him into power as he is confident he is the only one who is able to steer the country into the right direction.

I believe I will be a fresh air into our economy, once voted into power.

We have a concrete plan to change this country, we are not promising oil in taps, we are promising workable solutions on the economy.

Venaani said as per the party's manifesto, the biggest challenge his government would do is restore investor's confidence in the country, rebuild and stimulate the economy because without a strong growing economy, opportunities will not be created and prosperity will become a mirage.

The very first thing that my administration shall do is to lower taxes. We will give a tax break on all income tax earners of 1.5 percent.

It has been proven over and over again in the world that in you are taxing your people lesser, you are going to get more income in the economy because people will do more with their money and then the country will gain more.

Vice President of the United People's Movement (UPM) Jan Van Wyk also pledged his party's support to Venaani during the upcoming national elections.
