Swapo continues to promote effective governance: Iipumbu

The Swapo Party-led government continues to promote effective governance and execute its mandate guided by the principles of accountability, transparency and commitment.

The party's politburo and central committee member Lucia Iipumbu made these remarks while addressing Swapo members, supporters and sympathisers at Uukwangula village in the Oshana Region's Okatana Constituency on Saturday.

Iipumbu used the same meeting to call on those present to renew the ruling Swapo Party mandate to govern the country for the coming five years by voting for its Presidential candidate Hage Geingob and the party's Parliamentary candidates during the election on 27 November.

Swapo Party needs another five year, as we remain confronted with various challenges, which we can only tackle and solve, when we ensure that the party with a proven record of accomplishment emerge victorious in November, she cited.

Despite the social challenges the nation is facing, Iipumbu said, the Swapo Party-led government managed to do more with the little to its disposal whilst at the same time acknowledging the challenges encountered during the implementation of policies, programmes and projects.

She however, encouraged the people of Namibia to help the party in fighting the scourge which hampers the process of development reaching the needy in the communities.

We are in this together, for Swapo Party belongs to you, the masses, explained Iipumbu, who is also the Deputy Minister of Industrialisation, Trade and SME Development.

She singled out the development of the Okatana-Endola-Onhuno and Oshakati-Omungwelume roads into bitumen standard as some of remarkable achievements that the Swapo Party-led government has recorded in numerous areas in the country.

The meeting was a Swapo colourful.
