Swapo holds mini rally for by-election

The Swapo Party Khomasdal district on Saturday held a mini rally to sensitize its supporters about the Party candidate standing for regional council bi-election.

The bi-election slated for 15 January 2020 is to replace regional councillors who have resigned from their positions as a result of them being elected to the Swapo party national list.

The incoming candidate Samuel Angolo,53, will replace former Khomasdal Constituency Councillor Magreth Mensah-Williams, while other bi-elections are for Gobabis constituency in Omaheke Region, Walvis Bay Urban in the Erongo Region and Oshikuku Constituency in Omusati Region.

Speaking at the rally here, Swapo Regional Coordinator Elliot Mbako called upon party members to concentrate on house to house campaign strategy in order to reach all corners of the constituencies and spread the Swapo gospel.

Mbako said the youth voted in numbers in the 2019 National and Presidential elections, which shows that the youth are taking political participation more seriously than before.

The youth need to be guided in order not to fall prey to counter revolutionary forces which are hell bent to destroy our effort of independence, he said.

At the same occasion, the candidate Samuel Angolo said his motto will be to implement all Swapo manifesto's in effort to see prosperous Namibia for all.

I will make sure that I implement the open-door policy to make sure that people are reached from the community level, he said.

He added that, amongst his objective is to feed the needy and disadvantage, and to search for potential investors to develop the Khomasdal Constituency.
