The newly built and recently inaugurated Swapo Party office in the Kavango East Region has been broken into, according to the Namibian Police.

The Namibian Police Force’s Crime Investigations Coordinator for the region, Bonifatius Kanyetu told Nampa on Friday the incident occurred around 05h00 on Wednesday.

Kanyetu said the office does not have a 24-hour security guard or burglar bars, and the thieves gained access to the building by breaking the windows with bricks.

They allegedly stole a printer valued at N.dollars 5 000 and a kettle.

The break-in was discovered by staff members when they reported for duty later in the morning.

The deputy commissioner said no arrests have been made in connection with the matter yet.

Police investigations into the matter continue.
