Team Namibia continued with their impressive performance on day two of the 2022 World Para Athletics Grand Prix in Marrakech, Morocco banging in 11 more medals yesterday.

The 2022 Sixth International Para Athletics Meeting is underway in the city of Marrakech, with over 41 countries competing for top honours from 15 to 17 September 2022 at the Marrakech Grand Stadium.

On the opening day of the championships, the Namibian team raked in 10 medals while on the second day they won 11 more medals to bring their overall tally to 21 medals with seven gold, three silver and 11 bronze.

Their achievements ranked them second at the end of day two of the championships on the medal standing. Brazil led the standings with 24 medals (16 gold, seven silver and one bronze), while the Islamic Republic of Iran were third with 15 medals, six gold, six silver and three bronze.

Tunisia was fourth with seven medals, six gold and one silver, while Mauritius completed the top five positions with four medals, three gold and one bronze.

Host Morocco was ranked 10th with 17 medals – one gold, eight silver and eight bronze.
