Teen stabbed to death at Walvis Bay

A 19-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death with a knife in Walvis Bay’s Kuisebmond residential area on Sunday.

According to the Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s weekend crime report issued on Sunday, the deceased, a grade nine learner from the Kuisebmond Secondary School, was allegedly stabbed once under his right arm and died in front of Oshika Bar, Kabeljou Street.

The learner, identified as Kavehungua Mupeu, was allegedly walking home with four friends when they were attacked by a group of unknown suspects in front of Cooldrink Fontein, Agaat Street.

Mupeu allegedly died while his friends were looking for a taxi to rush him to the hospital.

His remains were transported to the police mortuary for a postmortem.

No arrests were made in connection to the death and the deceased’s, next of kin have been informed of his death.

In a similar but unrelated accident, the body of 36-year-old Christiana Beukes was discovered in her room at Rehoboth in the Hardap region on Saturday, with visible marks observed on the neck, suspected to be a result of strangling.

Her deceased’s 42-year-old ex-boyfriend has been arrested in connection with her death, while her body was transported to the state mortuary for a postmortem.

In a similar incident at Tses in the ||Kharas Region, a 35-year-old male, identified as Edwin Rukero, was allegedly stabbed to death by his 23-year-old ex-lover between Sobiso Bar and the train station on Sunday.

According to the report, the suspect allegedly grabbed a bottle, broke it and stabbed the deceased once on the neck and throat, leading to his death on the spot.

The suspect handed herself over to the police and was detained.

The deceased’s body was transported to Keetmanshoop State Hospital mortuary.

The deceased’s next of kin have been informed of his death.

Police investigations in all matters continue.
