Telecom Namibia and Napwu Finalize Wage Agreement for 2024-2026

Windhoek: Telecom Namibia and the Namibia Public Workers Union (Napwu) have successfully concluded wage and salary negotiations, culminating in a signed agreement for the periods of 2024/25 and 2025/26. The agreement, announced during a media briefing in Windhoek, underscores a commitment to fair labor practices and appropriate employee recognition.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Telecom Namibia’s Chief Executive Officer, Stanley Shanapinda, highlighted the agreement as a testament to the ongoing dedication to transparency and fairness in labor dealings. The agreement includes provisions for a one-time taxable payment of N.dollars 12,000 to all permanent trainees and contract staff in 2025, in lieu of a standard salary increase for the 2024/2025 period.

A significant aspect of the agreement is the 5 percent salary increase effective from October 1, 2025, along with adjusted qualifying limits for housing and loans, set at N.dollars 150,000 for all employees. Napwu’s deputy general secretary, Mateus Ndeshikeya, emphasized that trust, openness, and transparency were crucial to the negotiation process.

Shanapinda further expressed that the company’s achievements are a direct result of the workforce’s efforts, underscoring the importance of employee contributions to the organization’s success.
